Vital Bueche founded Bueche-Girod in Bienne in 1947. The company garnered such respect from the 1950s through the 70s that brands such as Cartier, Bulova and Universal Geneve used their cases and movements in many of their pieces
Frank Sinatra was known to have worn a Bueche-Girod whilst not a small portion of Scorsese’s budget for his movie ‘Casino’ was spent on Robert De Niro’s tri-colour piece
This piece is a 1970s Bueche-Girod dial and movement skilfully set in a gold plated case of a similar vintage
The gold sunburst dial is in overall good condition and is decorated with applied stick indices, baton hands, Bueche-Girod at 12 and Swiss Made at 6 o’clock
The gold plated case is in very nice condition with a sunburst finish to the bezel and sharp corners and lugs
Winding the watch is a cabochon onyx set crown
The acrylic glass is clear and secure
