A vintage 14 carat solid yellow gold men’s wristwatch dated circa 1951
Presented in truly excellent condition considering its age, this piece features a silvered dial with applied gold Dauphine indices, Dauphine hands, a sub seconds dial at 6 and of course the brand’s famous winged hourglass logo
The solid gold case was made by American case maker Apex, a company that made for US brands such a Waltham and Illinois and later fashioned cases for Swiss brands that imported dials and movements to the States, thus saving on high import duties
The stand out Cornes de Vache swing lugs are magnificent. They mould to the wrist no matter one’s peculiarities, making this a wonderfully comfortable piece to wear
The associated brown genuine alligator strap remains in excellent condition, as does the gold tone buckle
The original synthetic crystal glass is in great condition
