1960s Omega Chronostop Driver’s Dial
1960s Omega Chronostop Driver’s Dial
A circa 1967 Omega Chronostop driver’s watch, winner of the 1967 Swiss Watchmaking Federations Honour Prize for ‘chronographs and sport watches’ as well as at the Utrecht Spring Fair for Industrial Aesthetics ins 1968
The clean grey sector dial (rotated a quarter of an hour clockwise to allow for easy reading while gripping a steering wheel) features applied baton indices, luminous baton hands, a red chronograph second counter and an alternating racing style minute track
The stainless steel case remains in good condition with general signs of wear. The winding crown is positioned at 1 o’clock and the single button start, stop and reset chronograph pusher is at 11
Alongside the rare driver’s dial, the original Milanese mesh bracelet makes this a very special piece. It’s fastened securely by the original Omega adjustable setting deployant/folding clasp
The Omega caliber 865 manual wind movement runs smoothly and keeps good time. The watch was previously owned by a watch maker and has been taken good care of
