A stunning silver piece by esteemed jeweller Roy King, winner of two first prizes, a second and a third at the British Modern Jewellery Exhibition in 1961. The winning pieces are now in the permanent collection of Goldsmith’s Hall

Alongside the renowned Anglo-Italian jeweller Andrew Grima, King was a pioneer of the ‘Bark Effect’, a desirable finish that lead to the acquisition of his pieces by celebrities such as Tom Jones and George Harrison, with Pattie Boyd (Harrison’s then wife) wearing one of King’s wedding bands to their ceremony

This 1973 piece sports a bark finish silvered dial accented by black baton hands and King’s signature at 12 o’clock

The monocoque case remains in good condition and bears the marque’s statement hallmarks to the case back

The bark finish on the lugged sterling silver bangle bracelet continues through from the dial.  It bears bold hallmarks for 1974 and fastens securely via King’s iconic multi setting buckle clasp

The Swiss made FHF cal.69 manual wind movement has just been fully serviced.  It  runs smoothly and keeps good time
