An exceptional solid 9ct yellow gold twin blade fruit/pocket knife by England’s oldest family jeweller Deakin & Francis
This antique piece, featuring twin bails and an intricate guilloché finish, was assayed in Birmingham in 1923 (indicated by bold hallmark both sides of the gold casing)
The stainless steel blades remain sharp and fold securely. A leather insert has been later set between the gold casing and beneath the blades when folded so they protrude from the casing further, making the nail grooves more accessible
The bails allow for the knife to be worn on a chain through the button holes of a waistcoat or lapel of a jacket
There’s always use for a 102 year old solid gold, twin blade fruit knife
