And extraordinary c.1930s Movado gents wristwatch
The silvered & salmon pink sector dial remains in marvellous shape and is decorated with beautifully oxidised applied breguet numerals, baton hands, a tasteful minute track and ‘Movado’ at 12 o’clock
The steel case remains in remarkable condition and features a solid rose gold bezel to compliment the pink of the dial as well as faceted ‘corne de vache’ lugs. The screw down case back is skilfully inscribed ‘Geo. O. Boucher’
What is truly exciting is that the case was made by master casemaker François Borgel, the man who patented a waterproof watch before Rolex as well as making cases for the brand. He also made for Patek Phillipe, IWC, Longines, Mido, J.W. Benson and West End
The original domed acrylic glass remains in good condition
Fitted is a black pressed leather strap and gold tone buckle
Thanks to the dust cover‘s second layer of protection, the beautiful Swiss made, Movado signed movement remains in excellent condition. It’s runs smoothly and keeps good time
