A terrific 1946 9ct gold cushion case Longines gents wristwatch
The white ceramic dial remains in great shape (no cracks or chips) and features pumpkin lume Arabic numerals, elegant blued steel ‘Squelette’ hands with lume mostly intact and a sub seconds dial at six o’clock with ‘Longines’ lettering just above
The solid 9ct gold cushion case is in great condition and features fixed lugs, to the underside of which are ‘375’ fineness stamps. Bold hallmarks adorn the caseback, telling us the watch was assayed in Birmingham in 1946
Also present is the case maker’s mark of ‘ALD’ for the ‘Dennison Watch Co.’ who were known at the time for manufacturing high quality watch cases in England for famous Swiss marques such as Rolex and of course Longines
The acrylic crystal glass is in good condition with light surface scratches as pictured
Fitted is a new brown pressed leather Condor strap and gold tone buckle
The clean Longines signed manual wind movement runs smoothly and keeps good time
