Truly elegant is this vintage 1960s 9 carat yellow gold Longines automatic wristwatch
The cream dial (lightly patinated) is decorated with applied golden ‘leaf’ indices, quarter hour Arabic numerals, golden ‘alpha’ style hands and the brand’s iconic winged hourglass logo
The solid 9ct gold case remains in wonderful condition with clean, sharp edges to the lugs, the underside of which are stamped with the Swiss ‘Morning Star’ hallmark for gold of a 37.5% fineness. The case back is skilfully engraved, a gift in recognition of 25 years of service
The inside of the case back shows import marks for London 1962, the ‘Morning Star’ hallmark as well as fineness markings for 9ct gold. Also stamped is ‘B&Co’, the mark of Baume & Company, the sole importers of Longines wristwatches to Britain up until the mid 1960s
The acrylic crystal glass is clear and unmarked
Fitted is a brand new brown pressed leather strap and gold tone buckle
