Enicar, named after reversing watchmaker Ariste Racine’s surname to avoid trademark conflicts, is a Swiss marque founded in 1854 and the brand that gave us the outlandishly styled Sherpa Star in 1965
This late 60s example features a brilliant silvered concave dial decorated with angled/faceted applied indices, baton hands, super cool date window placement at 12 and futuristic applied Enicar lettering at 10
While the dial acts as the crater, the case is the volcano. The bark effect further accentuates the case’s naturalistic finish.
The screw back bears the model’s clam/ sea pearl logo while the crown is decorated with the brand’s ‘Signs of Saturn’ logo
The original mineral crystal glass remains clear
Fitted is a brand new brown calf skin strap
The in house cal. AR 165 automatic movement has just undergone a full service. It runs smoothly and keeps excellent time
