Silver identity bracelets originated as functional military gear in the early 20th century, where the plaque was engraved with each soldier’s name, blood type, and religious affiliation during World War I and II
They saw a resurgence in the 1970s for POW/MIA recognition and evolved further in to contemporary silver accessories
This sterling silver example was assayed in Birmingham in 1965 with a maker’s mark of ‘C BL’
As well as bold hallmarks to the underside of the plaque, each curb link is stamped to the underside with England’s lion passant, showing great attention to detail
Fastened securely via a spring ring clasp
Weight - 29.3g
