Vintage 1970s 9ct Gold Bueche-Girod x Roy King
Vintage 1970s 9ct Gold Bueche-Girod x Roy King
A wonderfully 70s solid 9ct yellow gold Bueche-Girod x Roy King men’s wristwatch
Vital Bueche founded Bueche-Girod in Bienne in 1947. The company garnered such respect from the 1950s through the 70s that brands such as Cartier, Bulova and Universal Geneve used their cases and movements in many of their pieces
Frank Sinatra was known to have worn a Bueche-Girod whilst not a small portion of Scorsese’s budget for his movie ‘Casino’ was spent on Robert De Niro’s tri-colour piece
As well as using the brand’s movement in his own line of Sterling Silver watches during the 1970s, award winning British jeweller Roy King collaborated with Bueche on many occasions. This stunning piece is a result of their partnership
Presented in wonderful condition, the minimalist black dial is decorated with gold dauphine hands and ‘Bueche-Girod’
The solid 9 carat yellow gold integrated woven bracelet (the star of the show) is in excellent condition without signs of stretching. The twin setting ladder clasp mimics the weave of the bracelet
The solid gold case, alongside the clasp, is marked with Roy King‘s stamp to in the inside and remains in great condition with light surface scratches
The original glass is lightly scratched in places as pictured
The Swiss made, manual wind Bueche-Girod movement runs smoothly and keeps excellent time
