A sterling silver piece by esteemed jeweller Roy King, winner of two first prizes, a second and a third at the British Modern Jewellery Exhibition in 1961. The winning pieces are now in the permanent collection of Goldsmith’s Hall
Alongside the renowned Anglo-Italian jeweller Andrew Grima, King was a pioneer of the ‘Bark Effect’, a desirable finish that lead to the acquisition of his pieces by celebrities such as Tom Jones and George Harrison, with Pattie Boyd (Harrison’s then wife) wearing one of King’s wedding bands to their ceremony
The clean, minimalist black dial is tastefully decorated with King’s signature and silvered baton hands
The solid sterling silver ridged/godron monocoque case is presented in wonderful condition with light patination . The case back bears King’s bold statement hallmarks for London 1975
The lugged Milanese mesh bracelet fastened securely by the King’s iconic multi setting buckle clasp, boldly hallmarked for London 1973
