A 1977 piece by esteemed jeweller Roy King, winner of two first prizes, a second and a third at the British Modern Jewellery Exhibition in 1961. The winning pieces are now in the permanent collection of Goldsmith’s Hall

Alongside the renowned Anglo-Italian jeweller Andrew Grima, King was a pioneer of the ‘Bark Effect’, a desirable finish that lead to the acquisition of his pieces by celebrities such as Tom Jones and George Harrison, with Pattie Boyd (Harrison’s then wife) wearing one of King’s wedding bands to their ceremony

The clean minimalist black dial is decorated with golden baton hands and King’s signature

The Sterling Silver vermeil monocoque case, reminiscent of that of the Cartier Ceinture (Cartier being a brand for which King was once an unaccredited manufacturer), features a stepped bezel and bold statement hallmarks to the case back

Alongside King‘s iconic hallmarks is stamped the profile of the late Queen as the watch was assayed the year of her Silver Jubileee

The original Sterling Silver vermeil buckle is present and set on a brand new black calf skin leather strap

The original acrylic glass is clear and secure

The Swiss made, manual wind FHF cal.69 movemen runs smoothly and keeps good time
