A true classic in the Tobacciana world is this 1980s 30 micron silver plated Cartier ‘Godron’ butane lighter
Despite its immoderate ‘bling bling’ appearance, this piece features a number of subtleties that set it aside from the rest. My favourite is that the flint wheel is sprung/hinged and pivots outwards towards the user as the lid is opened, allowing for smooth, comfortable operation and ignition
Slight signs of wear commensurate with age and use but a nice clean example overall
Perfect working order. Flame height is regulated by adjustments made to the screw at the base that doubles as the flint spring housing
Presented in its original box alongside original tool and international guarantee (purchased on the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris)
Cartier flints are hard to come by now and so a very good alternative is the Dunhill ‘Blue’ flints
Likewise, if you find Cartier butane gas unavailable, a very good alternative is Dunhill butane gas
